U.S. veteran sourced Waffen-SS contract M43 blouse and Keilhose for an Infanterie Unterscharführer, blouse constructed of German made wool, it has a steel hook and eye at the throat, five button front closure, four patch pockets, four pairs of belt hook support positions, adjustable cuffs and rear vented skirt, the lining, belt hook support straps and bandage pocket are made of flat grey colored cotton, only the faintest trace of lining markings remain, bandage pocket and cuff buttons are painted wood, one of the latter is missing, collar liner buttons are not fitted, the field grey painted alloy buttons, including those for the shoulder straps, match and are originally stitched, the top closure button has been reinforced with black thread, shoulder strap bridles are sized for wear with the type of straps having narrow tongues, a matched pair of original shoulder straps of corresponding rank are included bu they did not come with the set, these are a bit more worn and are the later style with synthetic piping and machine sewn non metallic NCO tresse, the matching pair of woven runic unit and rank patch are machine sewn as is the non metallic NCO tresse, both having black bobbin thread, the silvered rank pip's prongs protrude through the collar, the machine embroidered sleeve eagle is factory straight machine stitched, the bobbin threads are grey colored cotton, the lowest part of the eagle's wreath was either missed by, or has pulled away from the stitching, the wool backing is not damaged, showing light age and with some faint yellow stains to the rear, runic collar patch is a bit wrinkled and soiled; the Keilhose are constructed of similar wool fabric, they are lined at the inner waist and have cotton bags of ribbed white cotton, the fly is faced with grey colored flat rayon, the tapered ankle facings are made of grey colored flat cotton and grey rayon, ankle stirrups are constructed of a the same flat cotton and each has a pair of off grey colored tapes with HBT weave, there are two hip, one rear and one watch pocket, fly and watch pockets have small black composite buttons, dished steel buttons are used at inner waistband, to close the fly and to secure the belt loops, there are tightening straps with blued buckles at each hip, trousers are stamped with large SS style black numbers at the rear waistband, maker code is 910, trousers show rather more use than the blouse with yellowing to the white cotton and scattered brownish spots to thighs, legs and seat, the set, purchased from an estate auction in South Dakota USA in the early 2000s, USD $17,750
