Heer M36 style service blouse for a Heer Infanterie Obergefreiter, garment's alterations for best wear reflected prevailing fashions, the standard issue blouse had a new stand and fall badge cloth pointed collar added, with two sets of hooks and eyes, as would be ordinarily worn by officer ranks, the body was taken in at the waist and the front belt hook support positions were eliminated, the skirt and lower pockets were shortened and the lower pockets moved upwards on the skirt with the bellows removed, the upper pockets were left as they were and the five position front closure and adjustable cuffs were unaltered, the base garment was constructed of earlier was high quality field grey wool, lining and bandage pocket, which was shortened rather than removed, are made of grey colored ribbed cotton, the facing lining panel is stamped in black ink with size markings and depot WB.41, the field grey painted pebbled buttons match and appear originally sewn except for the third closure button which has been restitched with black thread, the shoulder straps buttons look to be originally sewn but have a slightly different texture to the pebbling than the others, the buttons holding the modified collar liner are horn and grey colored glass, two additional pressed paper buttons are in the lower collar liner positions, the cuff and bandage pocket buttons are grey colored glass, none are missing, insignia was upgraded at the time of alteration and include the first type woven universal collar Litzen which are carefully hand sewn directly to the collar, the shoulder straps are sewn in with bridles removed, these are of dark green badge cloth with synthetic piping, the national emblem is woven flat silver on a dark green felt base and hand stitched, the rank chevron has metallic Tresse machine sewn to a dark green wool base and is hand sewn to the sleeve, both the Ostmedaille ribbon bar and EKII ribbon are hand sewn into place, there are loops for two breast badges, there is a single small brass belt support hook at one rear waist position, blouse is clean and bright with little nap wear, there are tiny darned repairs to collar where it meets upper left corner of left side Litzen and to the lower front vertical skirt edge approximately 12cm from the hem, there is minor surface insect tracking in that area, more noticeable from the photographs than in person, presents a clean and attractive appearance, USD $1800 HOLD
