Uniform removed sew in shoulder board for an SS-Obergruppenführer, having a base of light grey colored wool, with alternating silver and plaited gilt woven metallic cording to the upper surfaces, the two large zinc rank pips have lost most of their silver finish, they are affixed with grey finished flat steel prongs, the line of stitching where the board was sewn into the shoulder seam is plainly evident, sections of the wool are absent revealing he internal off white card stiffener, a screw down shoulder board button is attached, interestingly it has a worn dark gilt finish, very interesting, this item is pictured on page 257 of the book Cloth Insignia of the SS, 1st edition, by J.
