Full profile - THIS ITEM IS SOLD

Luftwaffe M35 double decal overpainted baling wire camouflaged helmet, the factory blue grey paint and double decals were over painted in a uniform blue grey color and then splotches of dark green paint were sprayed over that layer, the camouflage effect is subtle and best appreciated in natural sunlight, the twisted baling wire appears to have been applied after the camouflage layer were added, it encircled the helmet and crosses the top from side to side and back to front, the wires' ends are hooked under the rim in four places, the paint over the second type Luftwaffe eagle and national colors decals is cracked, the side liner pins have little paint, the rear pin still has about 60%, there are areas of missing paint with light rust to the base steel with most paint missing from the right upper side, shell is stamped Q64, lot number 758, the reinforced aluminum liner bands are dated 1936, all washer pins are present, leather liners complete and undamaged, the liner string is non standard but original to the helmet, the full length chinstrap is maker marked and dated 1938, it is also until marked (but this was not noticed when the photos were made), a former owner's name was removed from the rear inner skirt, an unknown character (8?) is painted in white to the front inner brim, a real 'been there' example, USD $1975 SOLD
