Full profile

Heer M35 single decal pinkish tan rough textured camouflaged helmet, the Heer eagle decal is covered but its faint outline may be observed, the distinctively toned rough textured camouflaged layer was applied by hand, likely the camouflaged paint had a mixture of fine sand, this layer appears to have been the third, painted over a reissued finish which covered the original smooth factory paint, the shell's painted surface has small chips, larger gouges and areas of missing paint, especially at the top, where the camo paint is missing, the base layers and in some placed the darkened base steel can be seen, each liner pin has 40-70% paint coverage, the coverage percentage of the camouflaged layer is estimated at 70%, the inner skirt's surface is mostly covered with the reissue layer but the original factory paint is also visible in areas, there is light rust to this area and the inner dome, with dome stamp but challenging to read, the reinforced aluminum liner bands are dated 1939, liner pins are all present, right and rear liner pins are a bit loose, the leather liner is darkened and chafed, one finger is missing, both liner string and chinstrap are absent, shell is stamped ET68, lot number 3592, a true 'been there' example that saw extensive service use, most likely in the Mediterranean theaters and perhaps even in North Africa as this hue is often associated with service there, USD $3250 HOLD
