Partially restored pre war SS-VT overcoat for an SS-Sturmscharführer in SS-Regiment Germania, high quality double breasted garment having slashed hip pockets with flaps, turn back cuffs, rear belt, and vented rear skirt, coat is made of fine issue quality black wool and is lined in and has pocket bags of ribbed black treated cotton, there is one large internal breast pocket, inside the pocket is a machine sewn SS RZM label with the legend Mantel SS, the coat's shoulder lining is stamped in pale white ink with size markings as well as VA 1939 in a rectangle, the single NCO rank shoulder board appears originally applied, it has black and silver metallic cording on a black wool base and it is neatly sewn into the shoulder seam and held by a small SS RZM marked silver pebbled button, all of the larger silver pebbled buttons as well as the small buttons used at the rear skirt vent are also SS RZM marked, the plastic buttons positioned under the collar for holding the neck closure tab have the DAF cogwheel, the collar edge is piped in black and metallic silver twisted cord, the consignor reports the following insignia to be replacements: the left sleeve has a multi piece SS wool armband and it is tacked to the sleeve, the SS2 runic tab is hand embroidered in aluminum wires with Unterlagen (the upper tip of the left rune is damaged), rank collar patch with two silver rank pips and originally hand sewn silver metallic and black rank bars, both collar patches have black and silver twisted piping which is slightly oxidized and both pieces are hand tacked to the collar with black thread, the upper left cuff has a crisp machine embroidered in silver grey thread gothic RZM pattern Germania sleeve band, it was carefully hand applied with black cotton thread, the coat's skirt was professionally period hemmed, coat is very clean and in excellent condition with little outward signs of use, USD $8500 HOLD
