Interesting grouping relating to a Heer DAK Transport Obergefreiter and POW, includes documents, photos and finger ring; original award document for KVKII with Swords dated Mar. '43, Camp Rucker, Aliceville Alabama POW data card stating date of capture 2 Aug. 43 with subject's birth date being 11 Apr. '12 and with listed occupation as carpenter, Prisoner of War Index card with photographs dated Oct. '46 with dates of transfer to various camps and eventual repatriation in Feb. '47, detention report officially reporting prisoner status, two page physical examination report, pay data record, a copy of a typed letter made to an acquaintance in New York, and a four page typed account of the history or Gr.KW-Kolonne 641 in poetic form; photos include seated portrait of subject wearing faded M40 cap with soutache and first pattern tropical service blouse with bayonet and tropical boots plus another photo with shirtless comrade wearing Tropenhelm and two shots related to falling fuel or water cans, an additional full size standing portrait of subject wearing tropical blouse and shorts was likely made as POW; further included is an Italo-German campaign medal ribbon bar and a finger ring with palm tree and minaret motif, this appears to be of solid silver and the rear is well-marked, nice set, USD $525 SOLD
