Fantastic special pattern Waffenrock for an EM in Infanterie Regiment Großdeutschland, this pattern was proposed for wear from 15 Sept. 1939 and differed from the standard issue Waffenrock in having elongated woven metallic 'Dopplelitzen' collar patches applied directly to the dark green badge cloth collar absent white underlay as well as vertically positioned 'French' cuffs having three woven metallic cuff bars, again being applied to the dark green badge cloth cuffs without the benefit of white underlay fabric, Waffenrock is constructed of fine issue quality field grey wool, lining is of a ribbed pale green rayon, there are hidden skirt pockets and one internal breast pocket, size and B39 depot markings are stamped above this internal pocket in black ink, the reverse of the collar is stamped 42 and there is a blue penciled L to that area, the lower edge of collar, front closure, cuff edges and rear skirt decoration all have piping of white wool, as mentioned, collar and cuffs are covered in dark green badge cloth, collar and cuff litzen are straight stitch machine sewn and in the case of the former, not through the collar's underside, the sewn in shoulder straps have dark green badge cloth upper panels and each has the machine embroidered GD cypher, these have wool piping and were built into the shoulder seams, the mounted flatwire national emblem is zig zag machine sewn but not through the lining as it was applied during the construction process, the woven flat silver Großdeutschland sleeveband is hand sewn, all of the bright pebbled aluminum buttons match and are originally sewn, the shoulder strap buttons have the numerals 15, there are three pressed paper buttons for attaching the collar liner, garment was actually worn but only slightly, there is minor oxidation to a small rear area of the right side collar Litze, there are no holes, damage from insects or repairs, seldom encountered and super desirable, USD $15,000
