Service blouse with photo documentation for a Polizei doctor with the rank of Major assigned to a Heer Gebirgsjäger unit , please paste the URL below for more in depth discussion of the set, includes service blouse, photo album with photos of subject wearing the same garment and several newspaper clippings, the service blouse is constructed in the Heer cut of heavy field grey colored gabardine fabric, it has a dark green badge cloth covered collar with two sets of hooks and eyes, it has a five button front, four pleated patch pockets, turn back cuffs and a centrally vented rear skirt, lining is of grey rayon and there is one internal pocket, all buttons are field gray painted metal, insignia includes Heer style officer collar patches embroidered in aluminum wires of off white or light grey colored wool, these are hand applied, the sewn in Major rank shoulder boards have bright metallic tops on blue wool bases, each board has the gilt caduceus device, the left upper arm has a hand applied Polizei sleeve eagle embroidered onto field grey wool in aluminum wires and black thread, there are loops for a ribbon bar having EKII, KVK 2nd Class with Swords and Sudetenland Medal, the ribbon bar is broken but all pieces are present. attached to the left breast is a screw back zinc KVK 1st Class with swords, a solid Wound Badge marked L/56, either black that has lost its finish or gold, an unmarked Imperial EKI is also attached but, at some point, as the set passed through collector hands, this EKI replaced the original cased screw back 1939 EKI that originally came with the set, the wound badge is pinned through the pocket's fabric, the EKI is attached by pinning through the fabric with the lower pin passing through the original screw back hole, garment shows light wear and some minor staining, there is no overt damage to the fabric; the accompanying photo album has multiple photos of the exact same garment in wear by the doctor, the album includes numerous photos of other Polizei and Heer Gebirgsjäger officers with most of the latter having administrative ranks, the album has 74 individual photos including a half dozen from the First World War period including several compelling group shots, there are three separate period newspaper clipping remaining from the original group, quite interesting and different, USD $3200 HOLD
