Waffen-SS contract M42 service blouse for an SS-Oberscharführer from an SS-Pol. unit, remarkable example originally found in Krumlov (Moldau) Czech Republic circa 2007, 7./SS.Pol.Pz.Gren.Rgt.1 (4. SS-Polizei-Panzergrenadier-Division) was posted in this town, please paste the URLs below for background and discussion, base garment conforms to the standard characteristics typical for Waffen-SS M42 service blouse with five button from, two belt hook support holes, horizontal bandage pocket buttonhole, etc., it is an earlier quality example constructed of mid war issue field grey wool and with lining, belt hook support straps and bandage pocket of ribbed cotton (rather than rayon), the black size and maker stamping are quite faint and may only be discerned if held at the right angle under favorable lighting conditions, the bandage pocket and sleeve buttons are of grey colored glass and are originally sewn, there are no collar liner buttons, the front closure and pocket buttons are made of painted pebbled steel and are originally sewn, the shoulder strap buttons are grey colored glass marked JFS 1942, the left button is chipped, blouse has not been altered, shortened nor are the lower cargo pockets sewn down, a pair of hooks are sewn to the rear waist to support a belt, the matching woven collar patches include a flat silver runic tab and rank tab with two zinc rank pips with prongs that penetrate the collar itself, these are straight machine stitched, the metallic NCO Tresse is machine applied and overlap the lower edges of the collar patches, the matched pair of mid war quality slip on shoulder straps have orange red colored synthetic piping, machine applied NCO Tresse and each has a single rank pip, the under panel of one strap is in black wool rather than field grey wool, one of the WAF threads shows the garment with a different pair of shoulder straps, to the left sleeve is sewn a flatwire sleeve eagle by hand with black cotton thread, a Schutzpolizei eagle is sewn to the left lower sleeve, it is machine embroidered onto light grey colored felt and is hand tacked to the sleeve with light grey colored cotton thread, its lower left section's stitching is loose and it is possible to observe the fresher, more colorful wool underneath, the three place ribbon bar with EKII, KVKII and Ostmedaille is held by two original loops, there are no signs of breast badges or buttonhole ribbons having ever been applied, overall blouse displays even service wear and patina, there is no insect damage, holes or repairs, we assess that all insignia is originally sewn, amazing item, USD $18,300
