VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Service used Polizei Wind Jacket, intended to be worn as an overgarment, the jacket body is made of water resistant police green Grünmeliert-type cloth, it has an eight button double breasted front closed with grey finished pebble buttons and these are used throughout, there are two pleated and flapped cargo pockets on the lower skirt, the back is belted and has the characteristic central pleat down the lower back, each cuff has a tightening strap with two buttons, there is a steel hook and eye at the throat and the reverse lapel has a closure strap with two horn buttons, there is an internal shoulder yoke, the machine embroidered police eagle on police green wool and the Heer pattern machine embroidered mountain patch on field grey wool are both hand sewn to the left arm, garment shows normal typical service use with soiling, there is some fraying to the cuffs edges but no other damage or repairs are noted, USD $785
