First pattern Heer tropical service blouse for an Artillerie Obergefreiter, service used example having stampings for size and depot F41, with open collar, five button front, four pleated patch pockets and adjustable cuffs, the matching pebbled metal buttons retain traces of their original paint and, with the exception of shoulder strap buttons, are held with S hooks, the complete set of pressed paper buttons used at cuffs and for the (removed) bandage pocket are still in place, blouse is made of olive colored cotton twill, belt hook support straps and lining panels are of light olive colored cotton, the tropical pattern woven collar patches and national emblem are factory sewn with the Litzen being machine stitched and finished by hand and the national emblem being applied in the 'zip and flip' method, the straight line of stitching across the back of the eagle's wing is the factory application, however, the lower portions were restitched at some point with thread that is not an exact match, includes a matched pair of early quality slip on shoulder straps having hochrot colored wool piping with olive colored tropical overcoat wool material under panels, these straps were added and the blouse was originally sold with another pair installed, the tropical pattern rank chevron and Afrikakorps sleeveband were carefully postwar collector applied by hand over the 'shadows' where the original chevron AND sleeveband had been sewn, the EKII ribbon is also an addition, the left breast pocket has holes from the former application of a badge, blouse shows a bit of fading and a few small holes at the right upper chest and shoulder, an attractive early service used example, USD $2975 HOLD
