VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Excellent Steinhauer and Lück B-type Knights Cross, cross itself has incuse markings 935 (silver content) and 4 (for the manufacturer S&L), the suspension loop with finished ends is marked 800, the B-type frame has the typical 'dent row' identifiers to the lower 3 o'clock area plus the 'knee flaw' between the 6 and 9 o'clock arms, the cross is in almost unworn condition, the postwar black leatherette case has a few minor scuffs to the edges, it is lined in satin with the recessed lower section covered in black velvet, the accompanying crisp folded section of ribbon is without tie strings and measures 29cm in length, at one time a cross had been suspended from the ribbon, includes a 2024 dated COA from Dietrich Maerz, author of the two volume set The Knights Cross of the Iron Cross , USD $15,500
