VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Mid war quality Luftwaffe piped collar Flieger blouse for a Flight Oberfeldwebel, constructed of later quality blue grey colored wool, it was worn with an open collar and had the under collar buttoning tab removed, with concealed front closure and flapped pockets at the hip, it is lined with and has pocket bags and belt hook support straps of blue grey rayon having a distinct purplish tint, the left inner pocket is stamped with RBNr and sizes, collar liner, inner pocket and cuff buttons are small dished steel, all remain and are originally sewn, each sleeve was slightly lengthened by letting out the cuffs, the front closure buttons are the large blue glass type, the hip pocket and shoulder strap buttons are painted blue pebbled steel, the badge cloth collar patches are machine applied to the collar and the rank gulls' prongs penetrate the collar, the lower collar edge is piped in golden yellow colored twisted cord, the matched pair of slip on shoulder straps are made of differing types of felt material, each strap has two silver rank pips, Luftwaffe style metallic NCO Tresse is machine sewn to the collar and the shoulder straps, the machine embroidered national emblem is factory zig zag sewn, there are original loops for two breast badges and two place ribbon bar, showing light service wear and with one darned repair to the left middle back, the rear lower sleeves show a bit more wear, handsome example, USD $1625
