VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. RH60 Named Luftwaffe M38 single decal dual green color camouflaged Fallschirmjäger helmet, the helmet's factory green finish was over painted externally by hand in subtle medium and olive green splotches, the base color is clearly visible where the camo paint is not applied, there are worn areas and scratches to the upper dome and lower rim showing the browned base steel shell, overall paint coverage would rate 90% at a minimum, the decal was somewhat covered in the camo paint though portions are still visible and its outline is plain, the spanner bolts have most of their matching camo finish, the helmet's shell is stamped ET68, lot number 243, having an aluminum liner band and black rubber pads, the brown colored leather liner has the black size block stamping - Kopfweite Gr. 57 "Stahlhelm-Gr. 68 and maker information - Karl Heisler Berlin C.2, it also has the penciled initials R.R., the former owner's information is penned to the liner - Gefr. Becker 1. Zug, 2. Zug, the leather chin harness is complete but a little fragile, the snap is marked PRYM 4 and has light surface rust, fine example, USD $13,750 HOLD
