Remarkable service kepi for an NSFK Gruppenführer/Obergruppenführer, having 20mm wide metallic silver Tresse with zig zag pattern machine applied along the upper turn up edge (see the book NSKK NSFK Uniforms, Organization & History by Angolia and Littlejohn, pp. 372-376, the cap's body is constructed of ribbed blue grey colored trikot wool, both front scallop and crown have woven aluminum piping installed during the production process, lining is of cream colored rayon, having a brown colored leather sweatband attached to a strip of iron velvet around the cap's inner circumference, the adjustable black patent leather chinstrap is held with two black buttons, the silver finished brass second pattern national emblem is affixed with prongs that penetrate the lining, the pebbled silver button is held by prongs, this cap appears to have been a favorite of its former owner and has a pleasing patina of age and wear, there are no holes, damage of repair to the body though the Tresse has tarnished, lining is soiled and the sweatband, though supple, has a few small tears, estimate size 56, USD $4850
