Modified M40 style service blouse for a Heer Gebirgsjäger with the rank of Stabsgefreiter, the standard issue mid war issue service blouse was altered to suit the owner's taste with the addition of a dark green badge cloth collar, shortened skirt, removal of lower pocket bellows and badge pocket and then relocation of those pockets closer to the waist overlapping the front belt hook support positions, as originally issued, blouse was made of early mid war issue quality field grey wool, with collar (most likely) of matching fabric, six button front and four pleated patch pockets, the cuffs are adjustable and each has two steel dished buttons, the collar liner buttons are a mixture of dished steel, pressed paper and composite, all buttons are painted pebbled steel with the exception of the left numeraled shoulder board button which is a more recent replacement, lining is of deep grey colored ribbed cotton, the size stampings are in black, depot P 42 is stamped in a rectangular block, the collar has machine applied mounted first type woven universal litzen, the matched pair of shoulder straps are of dark green badge cloth with wool piping, tongues are made of field grey wool with ribbed cotton reinforcement, straps' undersides are stone grey colored wool, the subdued machine woven national emblem is factory sewn in the 'zip and flip' style with the lower portions sewn by hand, the machine embroidered Gebirgsjäger patch, EKII ribbon, Kuban shield and rank chevron are all hand applied, the chevron's rank ipip is machine embroidered on dark green felt and the subdued metallic tresse chevrons are machine sewn, there are a few loose stitches to shield and chevron, the lower tip of the Gebirgsjäger patch has minor insect damage, there is one small hole to the right upper pocket and a few small holes to the left mid sleeve, other than these minor flaws piece shows little nap wear and exhibits light age, includes original collar liner and two belt support hooks, USD $2975 HOLD
