VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Black wrap for a Heer Panzeraufklärungs EM, base garment is a pre war standard issue wrap modified for wear by an armored reconnaissance EM, the factory applied rosa colored collar piping was carefully removed along with the throat hook and eye, the issue collar patches were removed (their outline is visible) and replaced with new collar patches having golden yellow colored synthetic piping, affixed to each collar patch is an aluminum Totenkopf having rounded brass prongs, the matched pair of slip on shoulder straps also have wool piping, the first type woven national emblem is originally hand sewn, to the right lower sleeve is a hand sewn hand embroidered on dark green silver bordered Funkmesiter specialty patch, the wrap is made of pre war high quality black wool and has lining, internal pocket bags, belt hook support straps and tie tape tunnels of light grey colored ribbed cotton, the black tie tapes have the HBT pattern weave, wrap has black ink size and B38 depot stampings, as was often the case mid war and later, the wrap's body was slightly shortened and there are three remaining large black front closure buttons, the cuff closure and lapel black composite buttons are smaller, a horn button is sewn under the right shoulder strap for mounting the grade one marksmanship lanyard, wrap shows only the slightest traces of wear and is in immaculate condition, USD $8500 HOLD
