VirtualGrenadier is a non-political informational and commercial web site devoted to documenting the appearance of the German soldier 1939-1945 through the use of period photographs, by showcasing examples from private collections, and by offering original examples for sale. The site is intended for use by researchers, archivists and collectors of historical military memorabilia. This site carries no affiliation whatsoever with any political ideology. Any visitor to this site does so with the understanding that it is strictly for the purposes of historical collecting and research as stated above.

Early four pocket service blouse for a Kriegsmarine Coastal Artillery Oberleutnant, standard issue example modified for wear by an officer, with black ink rectangular Lago Prag manufacturer stamp including '41 date and size stampings below, sleeve and body linings are of putty colored ribbed cotton, the belt hook support straps and bandage pocket are made of the same fabric, there is one internal breast pocket and the former owner's name is inked to the inside of it, blouse is manufactured from early mid war issue quality field grey wool, the collar has a grey painted steel hook and eye, with two pleated patch breast pockets and two flapped hip pockets, the cuffs are adjustable and each has been lengthened by 3cm, the rear skirt is vented, the field grey painted anchor buttons match and looks to be originally sewn, the shoulder board buttons are smaller, the distinctive Coastal Artillery officer quality collar patches are hand sewn over the position of the original issue Litzen which were removed, the woven yellow on dark green national emblem is the factory hand sewn, the shoulder strap bridles were removed and replaced with sewn in shoulder boards, each has a dark green wool base, a single small zinc rank pip and the gilt crossed cannons device, there are original badge loops for a long ribbon bar and a breast badge, a ribbon was removed from the second buttonhole and certain of the attachment threads remains, example was lightly worn, the shoulder boards show minor abrading, there is a 1.5cm length of insect damage at the left rear adjacent to the pocket flap, otherwise there are no holes, tears or repairs, actually quite rare and one of the very few of this type we have seen, USD $1875
